THE PATH TO ACUPUNCTURE

Sally Brooks is the owner and principal Acupuncturist at Surrey Natural Health.

Sally's background before beginning her extensive training was diverse and included corporate roles in Marketing, Human Resources, and Recruitment. She spent ten years living in Australia, which helped trigger her interest in the field of Chinese Medicine.

"Acupuncture in Australia seemed to be so wide spread and accepted as part of an individuals routine health care, that when my own health needed attention, acupuncture was one of the routes I turned to.  After an accident when I was 22, I experienced severe back pain, which was only relieved by acupuncture.  When friends and colleagues mentioned ailments or aches and pains, I found myself always recommending acupuncture.  I eventually decided I should put my 'money where my mouth was' and retrain in acupuncture".

Sally returned to London in 2009 to begin her full time training, which began at The London College of Traditional Acupuncture, where she gained a Certificate in Higher Education in Oriental Medicine.  Sally continued her training at The College of Integrated Medicine in Reading, before beginning a Masters degree at London South Bank University within the prestigious Confucius Institute.

"I have a passion for acupuncture, and am constantly amazed with the results that can be achieved, across such a diverse range of conditions."

Along side her comprehensive training, Sally has undertaken a number of additional courses in areas of personal interest.

Sally is a full member of the British Acupuncture Council, and adheres strictly to their codes and practices.  Sally is also on the register accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

AREAS OF INTEREST

Along with the additional training I have taken, I have particular personal interest in the following areas;

These symptoms and conditions are just a few that stand out to me, and areas where I have had particular success, however, I'm interested in you, as a patient, as a person, and how we can get you to your full potential.

PREGNANCY / FERTILITY SUPPORT

(pre-conception, pre & post-natal)
This also includes helping to get the body ready prior to conception for the rigours of pregnancy. Having been blessed with two small children of my own, I know the value to acupuncture during pregnancy, and after.

PAIN + CHRONIC PAIN

Having experienced chronic pain for a number of years, I know first hand how this can affect every aspect of your life.  I also know how acupuncture helped me deal with chronic pain, both physically and emotionally.

ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION

In a world where pressure is piled upon us, anxiety and depression have become ever more apparent. Acupuncture can be a valuable tool in dealing with these conditions.

INSOMNIA

If we don't sleep, all of those aches, pains and niggles feel worse. By addressing sleep issues, you'd be amazed how different everything else feels.
